Today’s the day before classes start, so I decided to go to the city centre by myself to look at some bookshops.
I passed by The Grimoire Bookshop the first time I went to the city centre, and I’ve been wanting to come back ever since.
It’s hard to find a secondhand bookshop in Seoul (well, to be honest, I’ve never tried looking for one) but I’ve always loved spending hours inside a bookstore looking at the books that are available there. In Seoul, Gwanghwamum Kyobo Bookstore is one of the largest and my favorite bookstore to waste spend time in…
The Grimoire Bookshop is a book shop that sells rare and secondhand books…
Mission: spot the hahoetal (Korean traditional mask)
There were also tons of random things displayed on the wall and lined up on the bookshelf…
Of course my eyes went immediately to the small Tolkien corner…
True to the name of the bookshop, there was also a variety of non-traditional books on gore, magic, psychedelia… etc.
While the floors creaked and it honestly felt like the floor would collapse any moment, the piles of books around every corner and the distinctive smell of old books upon entering this place makes this bookshop a truly magical place to be in.
