I’m on a quest to find a good quiet cafe I can go to to read or write my essays during my stay in York.
I went to a cafe / bar called The Nook on Sunday afternoon after seeing great reviews on TripAdvisor…
On certain days, they also have live funk & soul music nights
I ordered Yorkshire tea and brownie.
Curious what Yorkshire tea’s like?
Just normal black tea…
I was actually expecting something special… after all, I am in York… trying out Yorkshire tea…
I thought it was some kind of local speciality… but turns out (after 30 seconds of Googling) Yorkshire tea is just a brand of tea…
um hi…………..
So you know there are different types of brownies (soft and chewy or cake-like ones) and you just know the texture and how it would be just by looking at it?
The moment I stepped inside The Nook and looked at their brownies, I knew.
I really had to get it… because last time when I was in Brew & Brownie, I kind of regretted not getting their brownies. After all, their store name had brownie so it must be that good, right…?
So this time, when I saw that they had soft and chewy brownies displayed, I had to get it, I just had to.
And the soft and chewy goodness was really to die for (totally worth it). Very sweet but it was perfect with the tea.
I loved the atmosphere of this place (small and cozy), and will definitely come again for some drinks when they have live music night.

Yesterday I went back and tried their Mexican wrap. Best. Thing. Ever.
