Liverpool! Home of the Beatles!
My travel around the UK would not be complete without visiting the birthplace of the Beatles now, would it?
I remember going to Paul McCartney’s world tour last year and I had such a great time at the concert with my friends. His tribute to John brought me to tears, Hey Jude that lasted 8 minutes long was so fun to sing along to, and when Paul sang Blackbird, one of my all-time favorite songs, I went nuts. So I really couldn’t wait to go to Liverpool to soak up more Beatles love.
There are a few places Beatles fan should check out when they’re in Liverpool. Here’s a list to help! I’ve only been to the Beatles Story and the Cavern Club because the rest were pretty distant from the city center, but if you live for the Beatles, definitely check all five places out.
- The Beatles Story
This is an extensive museum that covers the story of how the Beatles formed in Liverpool. With audio guides included in the admissions price, you get to hear from John Lennon’s sister Julia Baird personal anecdotes of the band. I really had a great time there.
- Cavern Club
Cavern Club is where the Beatles performed numerous times. While the Cavern Club now is not in the original location, it is still worth visiting.
- Strawberry Field
Strawberry fields forever~ This song was actually inspired by Strawberry Field, which was a Salvation Army children’s home where John Lennon used to play in his childhood.
- 20 Forthlin Road & 251 Menlove Avenue
Where Paul McCartney and John Lennon lived during their childhood, respectively.
And then here are some other photos I took of Liverpool. I really enjoyed the city vibe (as well as how clean it was).
Those statues, that yellow submarine on the bricks…so many feels
