Not sure why but I’ve always had some sort of fascination with the city Brighton. There’s really no special reason I could pinpoint and the only attraction I knew before I went to Brighton was the Brighton Pier. But man, I was so excited when I got there after my short stay in Canterbury.

I stayed in Brighton for a total of four days. The first day I didn’t get to see much because I arrived pretty late at night and the last day I left early morning, the second day was dedicated to seeing the Cuckmere Haven which will be in a separate post, and the third day I had the opportunity to really see the city. The weather was pretty forgiving in the daytime, but every time after sunset, it would just start pouring rain.

I didn’t see much in Brighton but I had a really relaxing and enjoyable stay there. On the second day after going to the Cuckmere Haven, I went to the city center and had a delicious and affordable vegetarian buffet at a place called Foodilic. The third day I went to the Royal Pavilion and looked around the Brighton Pier while sipping on ShakeAway milkshake and eating cotton candy that’s bigger than my head.

Unfortunately, the Royal Pavilion did not allow photography, and it’s a shame because the interior was absolutely amazing and totally not what I was expecting. The inside of the building heavily reflected the western interpretation of a Chinese style, with large dragons holding the chandelier and bamboo patterns all around the dome. It was really extravagant and worth the visit.

But other than that here are some photos of Brighton! (Apparently the only thing worth taking photo of is the Brighton Pier… not much of a variety in here (and I apologize for that) but still enjoy!)
